Church wedding ceremony

Church wedding

Church wedding is a very personal moment for every family. Each couple must decide for themselves when they are ready for this step.

Someone considers that the most important wedding organization and after the official registration go straight to the sacrament of marriage without organizing a banquet for a lot of guests. Someone decides to take this step after checking their feelings, having lived in an official marriage for a year. Someone makes a much larger celebration than their wedding, combining it with a 5-year wedding anniversary. And someone comes to it only after 20 years of relationship. There is no right or wrong decision here, each couple makes a choice based on their feelings and sensations.

Destination church wedding

For church weddings abroad we recommend to apply to us for organization at least 3-4 months before the proposed date of the wedding. Since in addition to the fact that the organization of weddings and celebrations abroad around the world are usually engaged in a year and therefore the dates of weddings are written out in advance (as well as the most beautiful places) and the preparation for the wedding takes time.

The following documents are required for the church wedding:

-Birth certificates

-Passports

-Certificates of christening of spouses

-Marriage certificate

Once all documents have been submitted, a date is set for an interview with a priest. In some cases we can conduct this meeting online. After this meeting, the exact date of the wedding is set. In some cases, the Holy Father will schedule a pre-wedding course in the place where the wedding is to take place or in the place where the newlyweds live. A certificate of completion of the pre-wedding preparation course is required.

What do you do if you belong to different churches?

It so happens that you have different churches and this has not become an obstacle to your relationship, but on the contrary, and you want to cement your union not only before the state, but also before God (even if it is different for you), we can offer you a way out.

Not all churches and priests agree to mixed unions, so it is a very delicate matter.

If one of you is Catholic and the other belongs to another Christian denomination (Orthodoxy, Protestantism or Lutheranism) or religion (Judaism), we can marry you in a Catholic church or in a Greek Orthodox church in Italy or in Catholic or Orthodox Church in Montenegro.

If the groom is Armenian Orthodox and the bride is Russian Orthodox, then in this case we can offer marriage according to the rites of both Russian Orthodox Church and Armenian Orthodox Church. For example, in a holy place — in Jerusalem at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

If you need to hold a Hupa in Israel, we are also ready to help you with it. Part of our team lives in Israel and can organize everything without intermediaries.

FAQ

How long does a typical church wedding ceremony last?

A traditional church wedding ceremony usually lasts between 30-60 minutes, depending on the religious denomination and specific customs. Our experience coordinating hundreds of church wedding ceremonies has shown that most couples prefer a 45-minute service that allows time for readings, music, and the exchange of vows without feeling rushed.

What documents do I need for a church wedding ceremony?

For a church wedding ceremony, you'll typically need your birth certificates, baptismal certificates, proof of freedom to marry, and marriage license. We recommend starting the documentation process at least 6 months before your wedding date, and our team can guide you through the specific requirements of your chosen church.

Can we personalize the church wedding ceremony?

While church ceremonies follow certain traditional structures, there are several ways to add personal touches. You can select meaningful readings, choose special music, incorporate family traditions, and work with your officiant to create a ceremony that reflects your relationship while respecting church guidelines.

Do we need to be members of the church to get married there?

Requirements vary by denomination and individual churches, but many require at least one partner to be a member or to complete pre-marriage counseling. Based on our 15 years of experience with church wedding ceremonies, we recommend contacting your preferred church at least 9-12 months in advance to understand their specific requirements.

What should we consider when choosing music for a church ceremony?

Many churches have specific guidelines about appropriate music selections and may require approval from their music director. Our team can help you navigate these requirements and connect you with experienced church musicians who can enhance your ceremony with both traditional and contemporary approved selections.
