Wedding in Montenegro - Ivan and Irina
Montenegro, Kotor - Dobrota

One day united two events that did not dare to compete in their importance, so they played in unison. Although, still, the birth of a new family took precedence over the birthday of the groom Ivan. But it was as if he had chosen the combination with Irina as the most important gift on his day. The phrase «The love of my life» became the main leitmotif at this double celebration.

The newlyweds were welcomed surrounded by the raven cliffs of the Bay of Kotor, a suburb of the fortress town of Kotor, with the euphonious name of Dobrota.
The sea surface here stretches for 20 miles along the mainland, and one of the most beautiful corners of the Adriatic is enveloped in streams of fresh salty air. Many European traditions meet here, including Renaissance, Gothic, Baroque and even echoes of Byzantine civilization.

The newlyweds did not lag behind local customs and welcomed their guests on the shore of one of the 25 recognized most beautiful bays in the world. The ceremony took place over its gentle waters, among Montenegrin palm trees.

The celebration of the event took place in a five-star boutique hotel. Specially closed for this purpose, it sheltered guests for three nights.
The wedding dinner was organized on the open veranda of the hotel restaurant, overlooking the bay and picturesque mountain scenery.

The special charm of these places, contained in the simplicity of the way of life and the breadth of spaces, suggested minimalism and soft tones in the decoration. The color scheme of the wedding was based on golden tones. Gold were chairs, veranda decor, appliances, plate edging, canedlabra. The hair of the beautiful bride also shimmered with gilt in the sunlight. The composition was complemented by retro garlands, which gave the dinner a special warmth after sunset. Miniature fruits of local pomegranate painted by a calligrapher were used instead of cards for seating.

The program of the day included a lot of surprises that never ceased to amaze the guests. One of the main ones was a sincere, touching and heartfelt speech of the groom’s sister, who was the host of the ceremony.

Looking at the sun-drenched photos from this memorable celebration, it is hard to believe that the wedding was held in early October — but it was. We even had to deal with some weather-related challenges. On the eve of the wedding, we were forced to postpone the ceremony by a day. The forecast promised sharp gusts of wind and heavy precipitation, so we hurried to quickly renegotiate all the arrangements with foreign contractors, which we managed successfully and without additional costs and nerves on the part of the newlyweds.
