Can foreign citizens have an official marriage in Croatia?

Yes, they can. In order to do this, the following documents must be submitted to the Registry Office in Croatia:

1.Passport.

2.Birth certificate. If your partner is an EU citizen, there must be an international birth certificate.

3.Certificates of no current marriage, civil status. Either from the Registry Office at the place of residence and registration, or from your words in the Consular Department in Zagreb.

Can you marry a foreigner in Croatia?

Preparation of documents for marriage registration in Croatia.

To officially register a marriage in Croatia we need:

1.Passport.

2.Birth certificate + certificate that we are issued one birth certificate once in a lifetime. Or just a duplicate of the birth certificate, as the Civil Registry Office of Croatia takes it without return.

3.A certificate from the Registry Office stating that you are not married and can get married, or this certificate from the Consulate in Croatia.

How long does it take to register a marriage in Croatia?

Standard time of application and paperwork for marriage registration in Croatia:

-Registration at the Registry Office Director’s Office — minimum 2 weeks

-Registration at the Town Hall — minimum 6 months in advance.Registration at the Town Hall currently takes place on Wednesday from 16.00 to 19.00 and on Saturday from 10.00 to 19.00

-Away registration is a minimum of 6 months in advance. Registration can be maximum 10km from the Registry Office (Pula). To the cost of the package in this case is added about 1500 euros.
