Legend tells of the generosity of Emperor Otto the Great, who gave a piece of this picturesque land to his naughty daughter Adelasia, who had run away here with her chosen one. This is Italy’s Alassio.
For months we searched for a fairytale wedding venue for Alexander and Anastasia. It was almost an expedition. We traveled around the Côte d’Azur of France, explored the Riviera and the Italian coast, even looked at Lake Como. Nastia dreamed of a wedding drowning in the rich greenery and soft air of the expanse.
We found it — one of the tiniest resorts in Liguria.
This romantic corner shyly allowed to fall in love with itself, no doubts remained.
The Italians themselves call these shores the Riviera of colors, and the Genoese bay — the Gulf of the Sun. Even a light afternoon haze of the sky could not overshadow the upcoming wedding day. Especially since the Sun does not leave the coast for a long time, as if it wants to admire the local beauty again and again.
The project was called «You are my reflection». Two capitalized «A» letters, played up the concept and introduced figurative symbolism. Once Sasha and Nastya reflected in each other’s eyes and felt something.
Reflection played in everything. Branded seating cards, designed by a calligrapher, sparkled with fine silver. The glitter of crystal candelabras, mirrored columns, glass spheres falling from the ceiling, the mirror surface of the menu, mirrors, mirrors… and snow-white fresh hydrangeas contrasting with the rich Savona greens. Everything worked for the special atmosphere and filled the space with a new enthusiastic breath.
Fun fact: to hold an event in this place, in addition to buying out all the rooms and meeting certain conditions, the owner of the villa himself gets acquainted with the customers and only then approves the event. A powerful media mogul, well-known in Italy, he occupies a neighboring villa nearby.
The understated interiors of the mansion were ready to welcome guests who had flown in from all over the world for three days of festivities. Gifts and a specially prepared program were waiting for them, which could be learned about from the wedding booklets, kept in the general concept. Bridesmaids received snow-white shirts with the signature monogram of the wedding for the morning photo session. A stylist specially invited for this purpose carefully worked with them.
The direction of the ceremony, apart from the melodious Italian, was based mainly on the right emotional accents. Every tiny element, from the musical accompaniment to the captivating appearance of the beautiful bridesmaids proclaiming the celebration of life — everything was carefully thought out and rehearsed.
The next day, a local chef of a haute cuisine restaurant shared the secrets of authentic Italian pizza, inviting us into the holy of holies — the kitchen of his restaurant. While the rest of the guests plunged into the pool with champagne as if in thoughts of paradise on earth under the lounge music from the DJ.
Alexander and Anastasia became the first Russian couple to exchange vows of fidelity here. Their passionate bachata swirled like an electric whirlwind over the gentle sea.
